Peace For The Wicked
No more sleazeball funky lowdown skunky juke-joints
Where the drinks are knee deep on the floor
And the clientelle is posed and angry
And all the pretty girls are whores
Who gild the lily
And more's the pity
Listen
If you really wanna live a life of passion
If you really wanna dance your life away
There's a place I really got to show you
It's down the alley really hid away
Take me!
To soul city
Soul city
Peace for the wicked
Life for the living
Soul city
It's a way on down the street
I found it once before
Even though I have the keys
I still can't always find that door
It can be tricky
Might have to pick it
Soul soul soul
Soul City
Soul soul soul
Soul City
The girls are witty
The boys are pretty...
There's a girl who's dancing with my conscience
While the dj's playing with my heart
On the screen are my recriminations
While I'm singing I'm still praying hard
Take me!
To Soul City
To soul city
Peace for the wicked
Food for the spirit
Soul city
Soul city
soul city
Come on there with me
Come on there with me
Mick Jagger

The Key's in the wind...
You know her name...
She is The Green Lion.
And She bites you if you be unworthy...
Beware the red and white Lions...
You are certainly safe with me if I remain "Black" ...
Ha HA!

|
|
You know, all those among you who make 'value judgements' are in trouble and you are going to be in even bigger trouble soon if you don't give the devil his due!
Yes that' right.. Long before I came across Gurdjieff or even the Yezidis I had realised that one 'day' (as it were) God would be reconciled with all creation including the so called 'devil'..
And so, never concern yourself with what is *out there*, if the devil exists at all for you then the devil exists only in you.
The Nature of Our Common Creator Endlessness is All-Loving.

David.

Blood On The Cross
Give the devil his due
Feel the devil...
Shattered dreams, empty streets
Running from the law man
Take a cigarette, take your last breath
Tonight's the night for your last stand
You hit the streets young and wild
You're growing up a bit too soon
The city lights shine in you brightly
What makes you think that you're not a fool
Give the devil his due
Feel the devil in you
Give the devil his due
Maybe the devil is you
You walk away, emotional breakdown
You feel the pressure inside your head
Blood on the cross drips down slowly
Another child is left for dead
Give the devil his due
Feel the devil in you
Give the devil his due
Maybe the devil is you
Shattered dreams, empty streets
Running from the law man
Take a cigarette, take your last breath
Tonight's the night for your last stand
Give the devil his due
Feel the devil...devil
Give the devil his due
Feel the devil in you
Give the devil his due
Maybe the devil is you

Unforgiven
New blood joins this earth
And quickly he's subdued
Through constant pain disgrace
The young boy learns their rules
With time the child draws in
This whipping boy's done wrong
Deprived of all his thoughts
The young man struggles on and on he's known
Through a vow unto his own
That never from this day
His will they'll take away
What I've felt
What I've known
Never shined through in what I've shown
Never be
Never see
Won't see what might have been
What I've felt
What I've known
Never shined through in what I've shown
Never free
Never me
So I dub thee unforgiven
They dedicate their lives
To running all of his
He tries to please them all
This bitter man he is
Throughout his life the same
He's battled constantly
This fight he cannot win
The tired man they see no longer cares
The old man then prepares
To die regretfully
That old man here is me
What I've felt
What I've known
Never shined through in what I've shown
Never be
Never see
Won't see what might have been
What I've felt
What I've known
Never shined through in what I've shown
Never free
Never me
So I dub thee unforgiven
Never felt what I've known
Never shined through in what I've shown
Never be
Never see
Won't see what might have been
What I've felt
What I've known
Never shined through in what I've shown
Never free
Never me
So I dub thee unforgiven
Oh oo Woh
Never free
Never me
So I dub thee unforgiven
You labeled me
I'll label you
So I dub thee unforgiven
Never free
Never me
So I dub thee unforgiven
You labeled me
I'll label you
So I dub thee unforgiven
Never free
Never me
So I dub thee unforgiven

There will now be a short Intermission...
My garden is like a poem
Only full of flowers not words
Instead of rhyme, there's parsley and thyme
And instead of scansion there's birds.
Instead of metre, there's something neater
i.e. rows of pretty things.
Instead of vowels there are spades and trowels
And the sound of the lawn edger sings.
My garden has a compost heap
And herbaceous borders as well.
And where a poem has a thought
My garden has a smell.
My poems are rather like a garden
Only minus the flowers and birds.
And minus the trees and minus the bees
And instead of the plants - there's words.
MY GARDEN
by Mr Herbert Thompson.

Queen Mary she's my friend
Yes I believe I will go see her again
Nobody has to guess
That baby can't be blessed
Till she finally sees that
She's like all the rest
With her fog
Her amphetamines
And her pearls

San Franciscan Nights
This following program is dedicated to the city and people of San Francisco
Who may not know it but they are beautiful, and so is their city
This is a very personal song, so if the viewer cannot understand it
Particularly those of you who are European residents
Save up all your bread and fly Translove Airways to San Francisco, USA
Then maybe you'll understand the song, it will be worth it
If not for the sake of this song but for the sake of your own peace of mind
Strobe light's beam creates dreams
Walls move, minds do too
On a warm San Franciscan night
Old child young child feel all right
On a warm San Franciscan night
Angels sing leather wings
Jeans of blue Harley Davidsons too
On a warm San Franciscan night
Old angel young angel feel all right
On a warm San Franciscan night
I wasn't born there perhaps I'll die there
There's no place left to go, San Francisco
Cop's face is filled with hate
Heavens above he's on a street called "Love"
When will they ever learn?
Old cop young cop feel all right
On a warm San Franciscan night
The children are cool, they don't raise fools
It's an American dream, includes Indians too.

The Advetures of Robin Head
Deep in the forest of Sherwood
In the year twelve hundred and ten
There lived a dealer by the name of Head
And his band of merri men
All living on nuts and berries
And the occasional spotted-dear
All doing there macrobiotic thing
And oozing oodles of cheer
The sound of merry laughter
Echoed through the forest green
There was Friar Tuck
With which nothing rhymes
And Marion the Acid Queen
Said Little John "let's have some meat"
Said Robin "what's the point"
I'm tired of all this venison
So let's go roll a joint
And then one day there came in sight
A band of Sherrif's men
Allo allo allo and what's all this 'ere then?
You'll have to come along with me
To the Palace of the King
Said Robin "don't get uptight man"
I was only doing my thing
So Robin Head prepared to leave
Blew Marion a kiss
While taking certain substances
For further analysis
And when the people heard the news
They all came out to see
For the man who always gives good deals
Is of great popularity
Now Robin Head was dragged in chains
Before Nottingham's cruel King
For years said he I've been after you
And now you'll bloody well swing
But before I come to sentence you
For the evil that you've done
Tell me, what is this herb
That you grow in the woods
I think I will try some
Now the minutes passed in silence
While the air grew somewhat thick
Then the Sherrif said "oh the colours man"
And was promptly horribly sick
And so this story comes to an end
As happily as it began
Now Robin Head deals for the countryside
While the Sherrif does Nott-ing-haaaaaaaaaaaaaam!
